Ever consider buying your own island? They’re not all insanely priced. Cork auctioneer, Dominic Daly, will accept just €150,000 for Mannion’s Island in Dunmanus Bay. Not a bad price for your own island! Especially compared to Horse Island in Roaring Water Bay’s which is a little steeper at €6.75m. The downside, as our own Amy Shine recently noted in the Irish Examiner, is that in Ireland you are legally required to let visitors on to your island, courtesy of the Foreshore Act, 1933.
