Importance of video footage

Fachtna O’Driscoll Solicitors represented a driver of a vehicle who was on one of the main roads in the city centre when the vehicle in front of him suddenly reversed into his car. Initially the driver of the other vehicle argued that our client was at fault and that he had in fact been rear ended until our client produced video footage he had of the accident from his dash cam which clearly showed the vehicle in front reversing into him as it was looking for a car space. Our client suffered soft tissue injuries to his neck and back and liability was eventually conceded. We settled his claim at the Injuries Board stage. This case shows the importance of video footage when there are not independent witnesses and there is a clear dispute on the facts as to how the accident occurred.
